STaR Mentoring Program
The College of Education and Human development mentoring program for new assistant professors started in fall 2017. The Service, Teaching and Research (STaR) Mentoring program originated from the College of Education and Human Development Catapult grant, which proposed beginning a STaR Mentoring Program for new faculty members. The grant received full funding, and The STaR Program, now in its second year is operated by the faculty affairs and academic affairs offices. The program has served 20 new faculty members by matching them with 20 seasoned faculty members across the college. The program lasts one year, and is aimed at jump-starting faculty careers.

THE KAY AND JERRY COX FELLOWS
The College of Education and Human development mentoring program is proud to pair with the Jerry and Kay Cox Fellows. Through the generosity of this amazing family, additional funding ($2000 per new faculty) is available for new faculty development and professional pursuits. Funding is deposited in faculty accounts upon the conclusion of their first year of the STaR program.
FACULTY SUCCESS PROGRAM
The Faculty Success Program is offered by the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity. The main goal of the program is all about learning the secrets to increasing research productivity, getting control of time, and living a full healthy life beyond ones campus. As NCFDD’s signature program, the Faculty Success Program is specifically designed to transform participants’ personal and professional life. The program is for tenure-track faculty and tenured faculty who are looking for the perfect combination of empirically tested methods to improve research productivity through intense accountability, coaching, and peer support and to propel their work-life balance and personal growth to a whole new level.
The College of Education and Human Development in collaboration with our four academic departments plans to support our faculty interested in participating in NCFDD’s Faculty Success Program. Last year EAHR and TLAC in collaboration with CEHD supported 8 faculty who participated in the Faculty Success Program. Based on their positive experiences, we think that this is a worthwhile career development program for our faculty.
